Business Peak District held its festive networking event on Monday 2nd December in the heart of the Peak District National park. The event was attended by over 36 business representatives and began with a minute’s silence as a show of respect for the FSB’s James Illsley, who sadly passed away the previous week. Indeed, prior to James falling ill, discussions had been held over the event being the first in an annual cycle of BPD/FSB jointly badged events.

The event provided our attendees with a unique opportunity to get to know their fellow members with some fun festive questions, where our attendees were asked about their Christmas traditions and then the collective group were asked to guess whom the most remarkable tradition belonged to.

We then asked our attendees the following questions:

  • 2024 has been tough in many ways, but what has gone well for you and what is the one highlight of 2024?
  • What are your aspirations/wish list for 2025?
  • Are there any concerns/gaps you need help with – is there anyone in the room with advice/recommendations?

Groups were then asked to discuss their answers to these questions and the responses were displayed around the room. The points that emerged from these conversations, sparked further exchanges and created a fantastic buzz in the room.  The collective responses with regards to areas requiring further support will be collated and shared here soon.

Our event was kindly hosted by the Peak District National Park Authority at the PDNPA Headquarters, Aldern House, Bakewell, in the heart of the Peak District.

Mince pies and refreshments were kindly provided by East Midlands Chamber.

A huge thank you to Debbie Porter, MD of Destination Digital, who co-hosted the event in her capacity of volunteer for FSB.
