The District Council’s Economic Development Team provides a range of support to start-ups, established businesses and companies relocating to the district.  Services include:

  • Launchpad – tailored start-up and early stage support to new businesses under two years old (delivered as part of the SCR Growth Hub)
  • Derbyshire Dales Business Advice – practical, one to one, face to face support to established SMEs with priority given to those with growth potential (delivered as part of the D2N2 Growth Hub)
  • Sites and Premises search – utilising the Council’s Commercial land and property database (Tractivity)
  • Business Rates incentives – for SMEs looking to expand or relocate into larger employment premises
  • Key information for investors on the locality; workforce; training providers (including apprenticeships) and supply chain
  • Regular programme of free business workshops and networking events – delivered in partnership with Business Peak District
  • Derbyshire Dales Chief Executives’ Forum – with companies of strategic importance to the Derbyshire Dales economy
  • Access to skills and employment programmes – delivered by the LEPs
  • Regular business e-newsletter, business grants & finance bulletin and assistance with funding applications
  • ‘One-stop-shop’ approach to accessing other local authority services including planning and business rates
  • Access to the Inspired by the Peak District brand & logo – providing local businesses with a marketing edge
