How to Film and Edit Video

How to film and edit video content workshop (Rowsley)

Social media has become a tourism marketing essential, but did you know that over 80% of content consumed online is now video? It’s captivating, immersive and allows you convey a real sense of place very quickly. But given the task, would you know how to create a film that best illustrated your business?

It’s easier and cheaper than you think and we’re here to show you how.

Our ‘How to film and edit video content’ workshop led by Ike Walker (BSc Hons Media Technology), Director, Videographer and Editor, Walker Creative Ltd, will show you how to storyboard, film and edit short films that best showcase your business.

Wouldn’t know where to start? Ike will explain everything that you need to consider before approaching film production. He will run over the planning, storytelling, tools which will improve both your technical and creative skillset.

You don’t have to be Spielberg to win at video marketing! Once you’ve mastered the basic skillset, your sharpened perspective will find new opportunities on how to creatively market your business market online.

This is a practical hands on workshop where you will get the chance to practice with Ike and ask him lots of questions. It’s been designed with intimacy in mind to make sure you get the attention needed to enable you to confidently plan, film and edit videos.

Objectives of the workshop include:

  • learn what to consider when planning your video
  • learn different shot types and how to pull them off
  • record great looking video with your smart phone or video camera
  • learn how to use editing software to piece together your video

All delegates are required to bring their own laptops to the workshop. All laptops will need to have an up to date version of free software downloaded called ‘Openshot’. Delegates will not be able to complete the workshop without this.

In addition to this, all delegates are required to bring a camera or smart phone caplable of recording video (must be digital) with them, plus any cables required to transfer footage to your laptop!

Due to high demand, there is a stricter cancellation policy in place for this workshop.
